Festive Mandala

Part of the Festive Stitch & Stash Collection, you'll be encouraged to use threads from your own collection, making every mandala beautifully unique. This relaxing project is perfect for stitchers who enjoy decorative embroidery, creativity and adding a little handmade sparkle to the festive season.
Techniques Covered:
Learn felt appliqué, decorative chain stitch, feather stitch, back stitch and bead embroidery while creating a beautiful festive mandala. Discover how to combine colour, texture and embellishment to create a striking seasonal decoration using threads and materials from your own stash.
Materials Needed:
A selection of embroidery threads from their own stash (stranded cotton, perlé cotton and metallic threads are all suitable) Seed beads and any favourite festive embellishments you'd like to include. Linen suitable for surface embroidery felt (green, cream, and red).

Inspired by a winter trip to Norway, stitch your own charming Scandinavian Christmas Gonk using a wonderful mix of texture, sparkle and festive embellishment. As part of the Stitch Sanctuary Christmas Stash Buster Collection, you'll be encouraged to bring along your own favourite threads to personalise your gonk, making every finished decoration completely unique. Finished as a beautiful hanging tree ornament, this joyful project celebrates creativity, texture and the cosy magic of a handmade Christmas.

Chain stitch, Turkey Rug, Raised Chain Band, whipped back stitch. Satin stitch Attaching beads.

White Appleton crewel wool or White ecovita wool, Red Perle, Gold Pearl Purl, Gold 11 seed Beads, Gold Bright Check, Peach stranded cotton, Forest green stranded cotton, Gold thread,Calico / Linen, Felt for 5” hoop backing.
